Desire

Questions still remain

To be dead, it is my desire to be partly,
wholly — maybe not completely
or solely, but there’s a part — a little
part, a glimmer, like hope — something
you hang onto, something that whispers
its warm breath under the moon begging,
pleading for a part of me to die.
Or maybe I just want to disappear
in the night which brings us back
to the moon, but doesn’t change anything.
Questions still remain, like where is the moon?
How is it different from the sun? And of course,
the most important question of all — do I want
to die or be captivated by something that
whispers its warm breath under the moon?
Either way, it’s just a desire.
