Drowning Butterflies

Captivated by the wind

We’ve become drowning butterflies -
our wings captivated by the wind,
entrapped in the sound of crashing
thunder. Hailstones pelt our bodies
as we flutter through the air
landing in a pool of iniquitous bliss.
I die in your arms as you pull
me under the waves of your heart.
