Shadows and Mirrors explores the darker aspects of the self. Life, death, love, hate, pain, and healing collide in this dark poetry collection from Rena Aliston.

I started writing Shadows and Mirrors last year. Finished writing all the poems earlier this year. There were many stages the book went through - gathering all the poems together, separating them into chapters (there are two chapters in the book), typing the book, two rounds of edits (so far) and cover design.

I struggled with the cover, as I’m not a graphic designer. Figured it would be best to have someone else work on it, and I’m glad I did. They did a great job.

Shadows and Mirrors will be released August 18, 2023. I’m very excited as this is the first book release since my return to writing. My last release was in 2012 with Versified Delusions (under the pseudonym Ofira Sephiroth).
