I Wonder

I’m aware that I’m lost

I often wonder if I’m half-asleep,
half-alive, partly aware,
obscenely lost. My feet travel
along the starry night sky
reaching for the moon’s embrace
while begging the sun to light
a different path. My blind-folded
eyes seek. My bound hands
beg to feel. I often wander
between day and night, light and dark,
order and chaos, right and wrong —
seeking, begging, reaching.
I’m aware that I’m lost, half-dead,
half-awake — still I wonder.
